SoCozy Boo! Lice Scaring 3-Step System

Warning: This is not for the faint of heart. Like me. So maybe I should stop now. After all, I am the type of woman who does contortions at the mere suggestion of a critter. But I must persevere… When Shakespeare was talking about death and taxes, he forgot to mention lice as one of the inevitabilities of life. But sadly, these days, it kind of is. And I hate to admit that I’ve had to become something of an expert at treatment and prevention. Lice are an epidemic, you guys. Growing up, lice was rare, but these days, entire classes and schools are being affected. And you know the poison that used to kill them? It doesn’t work anymore. Plus, well, it’s poison. So if you don’t fancy the kind of bonding that comes from hours of combing out your children’s hair, then you’re going to want to do everything you can to keep those little pests away. That’s why I knew I needed an everyday solution to prevent lice, a solution like the Boo! 3-Step System. If you haven’t heard about it, check it out on, where you’ll also find SoCozy’s Lice Platform, with videos, tips, and other info on lice prevention.

And, because knowledge is power, here are The Facts of Lice

  1. Lice are about the size of a sesame seed and light brown.
  2. They do not jump or fly.
  3. Head lice have nothing to do with lack of cleanliness; lice prefer clean hair, because it’s easier for them to attach to it.
  4. Lice is usually spread by head to head contact with a person or their belongings.
  5. The most common system is persistent itching.
  6. Head lice can live off of a human head for 48 hours, and on a head for about 30 days.
  7. Nits are tiny white to light grey colored eggs that attach to one side of the hair shaft and don’t come off easily. This is key. If it comes off easily, it’s probably not lice.
  8. Lice is most common in children 5-12 because of their play habits.
  9. Consult your doctor for information about lice removal.
  10. Pure Tea Tree Oil is a natural known repellant, and according to the International Journal of Dermatology, it outperforms everything including DEET.

The best way to keep lice away is through vigilance and daily prevention. Here, my 5-step program for preventing lice forever:

  1. Wash with a lice prevention shampoo, like Boo! And not too often. Lice like clean hair!
  2. Condition with a lice prevention conditioner, like Boo!
  3. Put your daughter’s hair up, as much as possible, in a ponytail, a bun, or a braid.
  4. Lice hate hair products, so pile on that product. Use a gel, pomade or mousse to add texture to hair and keep lice away.
  5. Spray with a lice prevention spray, like Boo! I love this product! It’s a leave-in conditioner that’s especially amazing in-between washing to detangle, freshen and protect.

Th SoCozy Boo! “Lice Scaring” system is simple, super-safe and smells absolutely incredible (thanks to a blend of essential oils, including peppermint, rosemary, tea tree and lavender). And I can get it at Target, where I pretty much live.

So don’t wait for lice to happen… scare it away!
